The pink pepper tree is the labour of love of Jacqueline Rozenhart and Glynn Jones.
Jacqueline “We wanted a name that you would easily remember. We tried a lot of Spanish names but nothing felt right, suddenly we thought about the pink pepper tree at the swimming pool in our first location. It is a beautiful big tree, giving shade and protection. The pink berries add a surprising bite to dishes, I like the colour pink and cooking and Glynn trees. The pink pepper tree was born, something a bit crazy, surprising and sweet but it suit us."
Jacqueline, who is Dutch, is happiest behind the scenes of the pink pepper tree. She is the direct contact for all bookings and organises weddings, massages and yoga. One of her passion is cooking and she prepares the three wonderful 'surprise' dinners each week. She also loves creating and has made most of the lamps in the hotel and a lot of the woven or soft finishes.
Glynn is from South Africa, is the host and smiling contact point for guests. He does the restaurant booking and is happy to make suggestions on places to visit. Glynn is a great sommelier, organises wine tasting in the hotel and helps in the garden especially with the harvesting of fruit and vegetables. When there is time he loves to work with recycling wood to create furniture or art objects to be found in the hotel.
